Almog is an Israel-born, LA-based writer/director/editor with sensibilities for both the dramatic and the comedic. He received a BFA in Film Production from Chapman University. While in college, he co-founded the YouTube channel “Almost Cool Films,” featuring narrative shorts that have collectively garnered over 130K subscribers and millions of views. Following the success of the channel, Almog went on to direct commercials and original branded content for brands such as Toyota, Bud Light, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate, and Invisalign, to name a few.
Almog’s films have screened at numerous international film festivals. His heartwarming short “My Heroes,” tackling gender non-conformity, was featured in AdWeek, CBS News, and BuzzFeed, among others. His horror-comedy short featuring animatronic stuffed animals, “Teddy Bears Are For Lovers,” was featured on Short Of The Week and Blumhouse-backed Crypt TV. His feature film directorial debut, Trust, won the “Best Feature: New Visions” Jury Award and “Best Feature: Drama” Audience Award at Cinequest Film Festival. Almog is currently developing several feature film projects, primarily in the horror space.
As an editor, Almog has worked on numerous commercials, collaborating with brands like Disney, Microsoft, Supercell, Angel Soft, and Cricket Wireless. On the narrative side, Almog has cut several award-winning feature films, countless short films, and the NBC animated holiday special, “5 More Sleeps ‘Til Christmas,” produced by Jimmy Fallon.
